The first Japan-Korea Joint Symposium on Composite Materials was held in Sapporo, Japan on October 5, 2000. The contribution of over 30 papers presented by scientists from both countries and their eager participation made the symposium very successful. Encouraged by the success of the first symposium, delegates form both countries agreed to make the symposium an annual event. The joint symposium aims at the common efforts of the composites communities from both countries in soliciting works and promoting the participation of scientists, engineers and students. All topics and all the scientific/technological approaches in the composite materials field are pertinent to this joint symposium.
The registration fee is not charged for participants from Japan, and one copy of the Symposium Proceedings is entitled. A welcome reception costs 50,000 Won per person.
Three sessions will be run in parallel. The symposium working language will be English. All abstracts and papers must be written in English. Topics for each session include, but are not limited to
Session A: Fibers and Matrix Materials
Session B: Design and Applications
Session C: Processing and Durability
Deadline for registration and submission of manuscripts: August 1, 2001
The symposium will be held at Seoul National University. Twenty hotel rooms are reserved for Japanese delegates at Hoam Guest House. The Guest House is conveniently located on campus and offers good rooms and service at a reasonable rate (approximately 60,000 Won/night).
